New Film Launches Halted in South Film industry

South Film industry Producers from Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam industries has come to a decision to not begin any new films from September 7th.The producers had come to this final decision after a standstill meeting happened between producers and cineworkers-FEFSI on their salaries hike row.

South Film industry Producers had attended the meeting with cine workers union on Sep 4th at Film Chamber in Chennai. The workers union are demanding for a increase of 80 to 100 % in daily beta.Producers are not infavour of increasing the daily beta's as per the demand but willing to pay 25 to 30 % increase in daily beta.Producers are stating that due to inflation we cannot afford more than that increase in wages.They are also asking FEFSI to enter in to a deal which will be valid for upcoming three years.

Even though the final decision from producers was not yet finalised and they said the films undershoot will continue till October26, Diwali for which FEFSI also said they will not disturb any film shooting and will cooperate.G Siva, FEFSI Secretary has announced that they will be meeting shortly again to discuss about the salary issues with the producers.
