Vijay,Asin starring kannada Bodygaurd movie remake titled as Kaavalan had bad news for VIjay fans. As per the sources Kaavalan is scheduled to release in 2011 Pongal and it is only to screen in 70 theatres like a small budget movie. Siddique is directing the Kavalan movieFrom the launch of the movie along with fans and Viajay also facing the problems till it release. earlier the movie was slated to released on 17th dec but due to unavailability of theatres, the movie was postponed to pongal.
The main reason for the dearth of theaters is that Theater Owners are claiming compensation from Vijay since some of his recent films did not do well at the box office. But Vijay said that he is not responsible and so there is no question of compensation. Now the theatre owners are refusing to screen Vijay's films.
In the mean while Shakthi Chidambaram intervenied and acquired the release rights of the movie and tending to release in 400 theaters. But only 70 screens for the movie to be released.
