South Director N.Lingusamy signs 3 years deal with UTV

UTV Motion Pictures, India’s leading film production house, today announced a three film deal with the renowned South Indian Producer-Director - N. Lingusamy
of Aanandham, Run, Sandakozhi, Bheema and Paiyya fame. The studio will co-produce, market and distribute three power packed films - Vettai, Vazhakku Enn 18/9 and Kumki, in association with the director’s own banner, Thirrupathy Brothers Film Media.

The first movie Vazhukku Enn 18/9, is written and directed by ace director Balaji Sakthivel of blockbusters Kadhal and Kalloori fame. Slated for a September 2011 release, the film will have a complete new star cast with music by debut composer Prasanna and camera work by Vijay Milton.

Next is the action packed entertainer Vettai, releasing in November 2011. Directed by Lingusamy himself, the film stars popular South stars Arya, Madhavan, Sameera Reddy, Ashutosh Rana and Amala Paul. Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music and Nirav Shah is the DOP. The film has high expectations as it is the next film from Lingusamy after his blockbuster “Paiyya” in 2010.

January/February 2012 will see a film from Prabu Solomon, who recently delivered the critically acclaimed and super hit film Mynaa recently. His next titled Kumki will star the upcoming star in making - Vikram Prabhu, the son of popular actor Prabhu and grand son of Sivaji Ganesan With this association, UTV Motion Pictures has six releases lined up in Tamil cinema, beginning with Deivathirumagal releasing on July 15th), followed by Cheran and Prasanna starrer Muran ; three films with Thirrupathy Brothers; and finally Mysskin’s Mugamoodi starring Jiiva, in April/
May 2012.
